Day 1

Dear Diary,

Today I got late entrance to the awesome Fresh Account Challenge. I'm very excited! I am starting a few days later than most others, but well, no reason why I wouldn't be able to make up for that right. Slight issue though… all actions to start competing are now down for the coming week. No hxd deposit, no assets buying, no wax, nothing. Ah well, let's turn 1 week out of the 3 into a f2p experience and see what we can learn there. Challengewise I do foresee that this will have massive consequences though, since Honeyland is all about the snowball effect, so time is all that matters. But this is no defeat of course. Going by the wise words of Kael'thas Sunstrider, this is merely a setback.

Today I'm also traveling the whole day, but during the layover I was able to do a part of the welcome pass and write down my plan.

I invited the whole world as my friend. My estimation is that many people will have full lists and others are not so keen on accepting new players that haven't proven yet that they will send Zzubs every day. So I just invited like 50 of them and see what happens. I want the Zzubs for the raffles and hope we can get some extra asset there! Or maybe for some fortune wheel spins. They're also very fun to decorate your hive, but that won't help me in this challenge.

I got a variety of starter bees along with some hatched and bred ones that I got while working on the welcome pass. The low capacity/agi ones I use for (snipe) hunting, while I use the bred and hatched ones for harvesting.

There are some breeding tasks early on, but I am trying to get some queen upgrades first with my snipe hunters. This way I can breed them with some more upgrade slots and the welcome pass will count things you do now for future tasks anyway.

Seems like I have to board now, so more tomorrow!

Icerax: How to open the portal to Cocarro

Day 16 Dear Diary, I'm going for Icerax! Startegy: get 1-3 bees with luck > 250. They're supposed to stay in the battle for a long time, and will do a lot of damage that way. So I've bought a couple of relatively cheap luck upgrades and upgrades the highest luck bees. These 3 are supposed to be my MVP's! I started the battle with 3975 attack, the battle starts at 01:00 am for me. When I woke up, this was the snapshot, already more than the minimum needed to qualify! And when the evening started it looked like this It's looking good I think! If I filter by luck, I see all the high luck ones are still in the battle! It's paying off! Oh, I also see I upgraded 1 that can only fight last few hours My advise, when you don't have many bees, go for a few with high luck! I also made level 13 by the way 🔥

Icerax? Hunting profits? Cocarro Team? Answers to big questions!

Day 18 Dear Diary, I know, I know, you're wondering: - Did she get the portal stone from Icerax?! - Is she still hunting? - If so why? Or why not? - What are we even gonna do in Cocarro? Let me immediately jump into this. I had more than enough damage, ended up as 19 and as expected my luck upgraded bees did most of the work and survived the full battle! See my other blog for more info about this strategy. And now what?! Yeah, good question. After spending all HXD on earth assets this was now more of a pride thing than anything else. However, I did buy the starter pass now for 200 HXD. This would allow me to do explore missions. Maybe we can get some bees and a queen to do some of those. So how to get those bees? What the Whale?!

Message from the future: This article was written and published in January, far before the changes to the generations in U1/Earth. All the basics still apply, the strategy would still be low zone turbo harvesting, but it might be interesting to spend a little bit more on quality > quantity and the asset prices are not the same anymore after that announcement. What are the changes? Only gen 3 eggs can be created, for 150 shards + WAX Gen 3 Bees will have 99 floor and 130 ceiling stats Per 1st April: Gen 3: 60% decrease in Queen Boost effectiveness Gen 2: 30% decrease in Queen Boost effectiveness There is an event item coming that will give players the option to increase the Generation of a Bee. Let's only look at the Queen Boost effectiveness for gen 3 now. Before the changes (right now) a 270 gen 1 queen would give 108 stats to the gen 3.
